What this is
The Advaita and Upanishads Codex is a free, comprehensive, plain-language knowledge resource. It covers the 108 Upanishads and the Advaita Vedanta philosophical tradition in depth — with the actual Sanskrit, canonical translations, and three reading levels for every concept and verse.
It is built on a single principle: the Upanishads are among the most important philosophical texts ever written, and most people who would benefit from them have no access to good plain-language explanations that are also scholastically accurate. This Codex attempts to close that gap.
The three reading levels
Every verse and concept page on this Codex is presented at three levels: Curious (accessible plain language, no prior knowledge required), Exploring (philosophical context and terminology), and Deep Dive (primary sources, scholarly debate, technical analysis).
The levels are not a hierarchy — Curious is not dumbed down, and Deep Dive is not more correct. They are different entry points for different readers.
What this is not
This Codex is not religious instruction. It does not advocate for any spiritual practice, lineage, or teacher. It does not adapt, paraphrase, or modify the Sanskrit texts. It does not make claims about spiritual realisation or recommend paths of practice. See the Disclaimer for full details.
