Canonical definition
A stotra is a devotional hymn of praise, typically longer and more structured than a mantra proper — ranging from eight-verse aṣṭakas to thousand-name sahasranāmas. Stotra literature is vast, spanning named classical authors (Śaṅkarācārya composed extensively in this genre) and Purāṇic sources. Given its genuine scale, this hub prioritizes stotras attributed to a named, datable author or drawn from a Purāṇa with a specific citation, over undated internet compilations. Large sahasranāma texts are treated as their own sub-hub rather than a single card.
