Canonical definition
A mantra is a sound, syllable, word, or verse held to carry spiritual power when spoken or chanted with correct pronunciation and intent. Mantras range from single seed-syllables (bīja) to entire Vedic hymns, and are drawn from every layer of the tradition — the Vedic Saṃhitās, the Upaniṣads, the Purāṇas, and the medieval devotional (Bhakti) corpus. This hub treats each one as its own object of study: source text, grammar, history, and interpretation — not a passing mention inside a broader page.
