Canonical definition
A śānti pāṭha ("peace reading") is a short invocatory verse, usually ending in a threefold repetition of "Oṃ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ Śāntiḥ," recited at the start and close of Upaniṣadic study or ritual. Each major Upaniṣad has a specific associated śānti pāṭha — for example, "Oṃ Saha Nāvavatu" belongs to the Taittirīya, Kaṭha, Māṇḍūkya, and Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣads, while "Oṃ Pūrṇamadaḥ Pūrṇamidam" belongs to the Bṛhadāraṇyaka and Īśāvāsya. This hub treats each named pāṭha individually, with its correct textual attribution.
