How to use this path. Move down the stages in order — each stage builds the vocabulary and context the next requires. Do not begin with the Ṛg Veda (Stage 5) or the Bṛhadāraṇyaka (Stage 2 end) — approach those after you have the conceptual foundations in place. Every page has a 'Curious' panel for first-time readers and a 'Deep Dive' for scholarly depth. Always read with a commentary alongside the primary text.
आरम्भ

Stage 1 — Entry

No Sanskrit, no philosophy required. These texts are self-contained and narrative-first.

The Bhagavad Gītā — start with Chapter 2 The seed of every teaching in the Gītā. Read this before any other text. Bhagavad Gītā — full overview Understand the 18-chapter arc before reading all chapters. The Īśā Upaniṣad 18 verses. The whole teaching in concentrated form. The Rāmāyaṇa Dharma embodied in narrative. A story before it is philosophy.
उपनिषद्

Stage 2 — The Upaniṣads

The philosophical heart. Move from short to long.

Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad The oldest, the longest. The summit of the Upaniṣad literature.
